New Year, New Life

After having been convinced that we were pregnant in November and only to discover it was a false alarm...nothing could have surprised me more when I took the pregnancy test on December 15th and watched as the plus sign slowly began to appear. With Josh in Omaha at the AVCA convention, there was no one in the house that morning to confirm what I was seeing. More than 12 hours and a plane flight later, I finally was able to share the big news with Josh. I had thought of many fun and creative ways to tell him... but in the end, I just sat down on the bed and said something like “So... I’ve had an interesting day!”

Because of the holidays and a conflict with Josh’s schedule, our first ultrasound isn’t scheduled until January 25th... not sure I can wait that long! As Josh likes to say, I am a “fretter” and this gives me plenty of time to fret! The good news about waiting, though, is that we should be able to hear the heartbeat at that first appointment!
